The main duties of the Controller are:

• Prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets and other accounting statements)

• Prepare and coordinate quarterly covenant management
• Create and complete financial and management reports for clients/investors and others interested
• Prepare financial input for quarterly board meetings and attend as requested

The skills required for the Controller role:

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accountancy
• Experience with preparation of periodic and annual financial reports and annual audit processes
• Practical experience with consolidation and tax returns, VAT, and income tax (preferably Luxembourg VAT and CIT/MBT/NWT)
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as IFRS and Lux GAAP
• Knowledge of external reporting and a fresh, modern approach to information disclosure
• Proficient with Excel

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:?€? 

• Prepare and enter monthly journals in Accounting system
• Analyze Accounting entries/records to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting, procedural standards and Accounting principle
• Prepare VAT returns and assist manager on group tax matters
• Prepare payments in banking system, budget and forecasting (including cashflow forecasts), and internal financial reports  
• Assist with the preparation of local financial statements for the managed entities
• Prepare/update IFRS reporting packages
• Manage periodic reconciliation of intercompany balance
• Prepare and participate in month-end and year-end close process
• Support in external audit activities

Experience required

• Master’s degree in Accountancy/Finance or relevant area
• 4-5 years’ relevant work experience in a holding, financing company or audit firm within a multi-company organization – experience with finance holding companies or financing entities is an advance
• Knowledge with reporting in IFRS and local GAAP standards
• Proactive person with a strong drive for continuous improvement and practical attitude
• Accurate, with good analytical skills
• IT literate in all MS Office programmes with fluency in Excel
• Fluent in English (both verbally and in writing) with a good understanding of Dutch
