EMEA Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a logistics real estate company based in Amsterdam to find a General Contractor Procurement Manager.
 
The Procurement Manager will work in the Amsterdam office under a hybrid working model. In this role, you'll help shape the direction, success and reputation of the Procurement function and help build a culture of effective spend management.

You will contribute to the success of a global procurement function, reporting to the US-based VP of General Contracting and Operating Services Procurement.  


Responsibilities of the Procurement Manager:
  • Optimize construction costs by leading contractor tenders and negotiations for new development projects in Europe, and supporting design optimization/value engineering activities for new development and capex works
  • Execute a GC sourcing program to increase development value on all speculative, build-to-suit, and data center projects; Value to be commensurate with the type of project (i.e., reduce costs on spec projects, optimize project and customer value on BTS and data center projects, etc.)
  • Develop a thorough understanding of capital project sourcing strategies for General Contractors (GC) to optimize hard cost spend in new construction and tenant improvement (capex) projects
  • Partner with New Development by leading an end-to-end, meticulous process in the sourcing and award of GCs for new construction projects for the Americas (RFP production, tendering documentation, analysis of tenders, price levelling, and price and schedule negotiation)
  • Provide bid analytics and insights for value opportunities and recommendations for vendor selection using data metrics
  • Build opportunities for partnership and value engineering through strategic collaboration with GCs, and subcontractors

Candidate Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end sourcing of General Contractors for large-scale capital projects (purchasing, contracting, levelling, negotiating, and developing strategic relationships)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to construct and present multiple sophisticated analyses in Excel to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent planning and project management skills; strong attention to detail, organized, deadline-driven, ability to prioritize multiple projects with contending priorities
  • Exceptional communication skills
