EMEA Payroll Specialist

EMEA Recruitment is partnering with a global life sciences organization in its search for an EMEA Payroll Specialist for its expanding Payroll Finance Shared Services team based in Budapest.

This position plays a crucial role in supporting Payroll operations for over 8,000 employees across 37 countries.

The EMEA Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely Payroll processing, compliance, and a seamless employee experience across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities of the EMEA Payroll Specialist:

  • Prepare and validate Payroll data for processing with third-party Payroll vendors, ensuring compliance and timeliness across multiple EMEA countries

  • Investigate and resolve Payroll discrepancies in partnership with HR Shared Services, ensuring a positive employee experience

  • Execute audits, validations, and off-cycle payments while maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality

  • Lead or support Payroll-related vendor transitions, process improvements, and implementation initiatives

  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls, local labor laws, and regulatory requirements across the region

Candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4–5 years of Payroll experience in a shared service or multinational environment

  • Strong working knowledge of third-party Payroll systems (e.g. SAP, ADP, SuccessFactors, Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-country Payrolls and working with diverse regulations and reporting obligations

  • Excellent communication skills in English and at least one additional European language

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, highly matrixed global organization
