Job Description
Active in 30+ countries, this listed company now has an exciting opening for a Senior GL Accountant in their Hilversum office.
This is a unique opportunity for a Senior GL Accountant to join a great team, with a view to move into management shortly.
The Senior GL Accountant role will suit someone who has worked in a similar role previously for at least five years, is self-motivated and driven with a positive, can-do attitude.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to;
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Group policies through preparation and reconciliation of complex GL accounts across circa 25 holding companies
- Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting through leading month and year-end close processes
- Intercompany transactions with group entities around the globe
- Provide insights into company performance through the preparation and analysis of financial statements, balance sheets and income statements
- Support the FP&A team
- Improve financial integrity by maintaining and improving internal controls related to the general ledger and financial reporting
- Manage indirect tax filings
- Extensive experience in GL function - at least 4-5 years with a full understanding of the function
- Previous experience working for an international company
- Managerial experience is highly desired
- Relevant education in Finance or Accounting (ACCA, CA, BSc or MSc) Problem-solving skills, coupled with a strong analytical mind to deal with complex data and relay this effectively
- Fluent in English – excellent verbal and written Advanced Excel skills Experience with Exact Online or LucaNet is of benefit

GL Accountant
Our client, a technically advanced and innovative organisation, is looking for a GL Accountant to join its team in Hoofddorp, Noord Holland.
This is a great chance for a GL Accountant to join a business with amazing development and growth opportunities in a dynamic industry.
Your responsibilities as GL Accountant will include, but not limited to:- Carrying out frequent entries whilst independently taking care of accounts receivable and payable
- Continuously overviewing the P&L – making corrections where needed
- Intercompany balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of the balance sheet with the general ledger
- Preparation or reports and overviews for the parent company, Controller and CFO
- Responsibility for VAT returns
- Bank statement processing for all entities through the ERP system
- Bachelors or Master\'s in Finance/Economics or similar
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role, particularly with projects experience in an international environment
- Solid all-round Accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills – a master!
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) - Dutch language is also preferable; you must be a strong communicator
- Experience with Exact (Synergy/Globe) is beneficial
