Job Description

Our client, a well-established, global manufacturing business servicing the Automotive industry is seeking a Strategic Category Buyer, to join their growing procurement team in Bern.

The successful applicant will have an educational background in Economics or Engineering, at least 3 years of experience in strategic purchasing, and ideally, fluency in both German and English. Proficiency in MS Office and SAP/R3, along with strong negotiation skills are essential. Previous experience within the Automotive industry will be an advantage. 

The key responsibilities for the Strategic Category Buyer are:
  • Independent management of specific material groups 
  • Development and implementation of procurement strategies
  • Overseeing global supplier relationships to lead purchasing and contract negotiation
  • Conducting global market research and supplier monitoring
  • Risk management for the managed product portfolio
