R&D Project Manager

Job Description

Our client, a global multi-national business, is seeking an R&D Project Manager to lead projects from prototype development, recipe development through to end stage industrialization plans.

Within the R&D team, this will include developing new ranges at the forefront of food trends and technology. You will have the opportunity to directly manage a team of Technicians.

R&D Project Manager - Arras, France

This is a brand new team in a state-of-the-art R&D centre. There is significant opportunity for career development both on site and within the group’s other brands.

Key duties for the R&D Project Manager:

• Bring scientific and technical knowledge to manage R&D projects end-to-end – this includes product innovation for different global markets, such the APAC region and Europe
• Offer technical expertise for the renovation of the existing range and margin optimization, as well as developing ranges at the forefront of food trends
• Manage complex global projects end-to-end, while guiding a small team of Technicians
• Build cross-functional relationships with Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sourcing to deliver projects within deadline
• Work directly with Marketing to analyse food trends and help to shape and define the category
• Create consumer studies, develop prototypes and engage with consumers and translate this feedback into technical solutions to develop the product that perfectly meets consumer expectations
   

Minimum qualifications for the R&D Project Manager:

• Degree in Food Sciences/Technology or any Engineering field
• Extensive experience working in food technology, ideally 8+ years’ experience
• Previous experience within food R&D in a B2C environment  
• An international mindset with proven abilities to adapt products for global markets
• Proven ability to build relationships quickly with stakeholders from different cultures
• Fluency in English
