Job Description
We are currently searching for a Global Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist in collaboration with our client, a global manufacturing business with production facilities across Europe and the US.
This role is available on a heavily remote basis with occasional travel to the Manufacturing facility in southwestern Germany.
As Global Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist you will work closely with the Logistics function and report to the Global Customs Head. Other responsibilities include:
- Origin declaration management and process review
- Lead Trade Affairs, Import/Export and Customs management across various regions including Europe, the US and Asia
- Product classification and complete due diligence on relevant documentation in order for all customs processes to run accordingly
- Provide expertise on trade agreements and regulations and execute Customs activity
- Integrate Customs and Trade practices into new entities that have been recently acquired by the business
- Manage the Tariffing/Classification and maintenance of foreign trade in SAP system
- Support internal and external stakeholders in all foreign trade related requests
- Monitor documentation and archiving of foreign trade documents as well as applications for export permits (BAFA) and binding tariff information (VztA)
Having previously operated in a Customs, Trade or Import/Export role we are looking for a Global Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist who has the following skill sets and subject matter expertise in:
- Customs and Foreign Trade agreements and requirements
- Educated to degree or equivalent level
- Supply Chain and Logistics Services knowledge with a customer service mindset
- SAP and associated modules
- At least 5+ years’ experience in Customs, Logistics or Supply Chain related roles, with exposure to global manufacturing businesses an advantage
- Fluent in English and German
- Ability to travel when needed (approx. 15-20% on average)
