Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

 

You will join a newly created Finance centre of excellence in the EMEA HQ, responsible for the financial reporting of the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK.

 

  • Responsible for the internal and external financial reporting of the 3 entities
  • Assist the EMEA Finance Director in the preparation of the EMEA regional reporting package
  • Month end close activities, P&L analysis, forecasts, and budget preparation
  • Preparation of Country financial statements, liaising with 3rd party providers for the final stages (corporation tax, transfer pricing)
  • Vacation cover for the accountant, review AP payment runs, vendor management
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, country policies and directives, and current accounting standards (environmental tax, country statistical reporting)
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of payrolls, including calculation of commissions
  • Prepare regional cashflow forecast, supporting the accountant with credit management
  • VAT approval-filing

 

Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy/business administration or similar
  • 3 years of controlling experience
  • Experience working in a shared service environment is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines
  • Experience of country controlling, ideally with countries listed
  • Able to work across cultures in a matrix organization
  • Ability to prioritise the important over the urgent
  • Accurate, good analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Practical attitude, strong communication skills with a proactive demeanour
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably German/Dutch
