Head of Accounting

Job Description

EMEA Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a highly successful, international B2C business in their search for a Head of Accounting as they embark on a period of major growth and development.

As the Head of Accounting, you’ll work closely with the CFO taking on the responsibility of all technical and financial aspects of the business, whilst managing a team of 16 employees and a shared service centre.

This company offers flexible and hybrid working, and the opportunity to be based in Aarau or Zurich.

Responsibilities as the Head of Accounting will include:

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS Accounting standards
• Working with the CFO to identify and implement strategies across the Finance function in Switzerland and company-wide
• Preparing and supporting with audits
• Coordination of annual ICS controls 
• Working as a sparring partner for operational units across the group, as well as the CFO, Head of Finance Operations and Business Partners

Requirements:

• Preference for Accounting qualification, such as CPA, ACA or ACCA or a degree (preferably BSc) in Finance and Accounting, with a technical and detail-oriented mindset
• Complete understanding of IFRS
• Knowledge of SAP
• Business fluent in German is a must - any other language would be an asset
