Job Description

My client, a large global business in the manufacturing sector, seeks a Global Category Manager IT to assist in managing the strategic procurement of all IT hardware and software globally.


As Global Category Manager IT,  you will be responsible for supporting senior internal stakeholders at a country, regional and global level across the business to ensure all user needs are met and the business can benefit from efficient and advanced software and hardware solutions to give a competitive edge.


My client is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Strategic Buyer or Category Manager  to take on one of their largest and most business-critical spend areas within the Indirect Procurement field.


This role will cover both hardware and software contracts - we are looking for someone with real passion and expertise within the IT market. This role will have significant business impact and we require an expert to confidently lead the category strategy.


We are looking for high calibre candidates with the following skillset:

  • Confident in dealing with large IT providers – especially software suppliers   
  • Degree qualified – ideally in a business or IT-related field
  • Essential that you have experience in strategic procurement within IT
  • Experience independently managing full category strategy – either regionally or globally, ideally within a larger business or organisation with advanced IT needs (ideally over 100m CHF spend)
  • Excellent negotiation skills – have independently managed high value contract negotiations and confident in managing supplier performance
  • Fluent English is essential - German would be highly advantageous
