Global Category Manager Machinery

Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a German speaking Global Category Manager Machinery, ideally based in the headquarters in Zurich.

As Global Category Manager Machinery, you will operate in a strategic capacity, delivering cost reduction and value chain improvement programs, through the implementation of best practice and management of Procurement activities for the Machinery category globally.

In this strategic role, you will adopt and drive a continuous improvement mindset in line with business targets and wider company goals.

Global Category Manager machinery, Zurich, Switzerland/ hybrid working 

You will be proficient in stakeholder management, with the ability to understand wider business needs and communicate with senior and C-suite business leaders.

Ideally, you will be comfortable contributing on a commercial level, and adapting as the category and wider business goals develop in the future.

As a Global Category Manager Machinery, we are looking for high calibre candidates with the following skillset:

• Ideally 6+ years’ experience in Procurement in a similar position covering category management responsibilities
• Procurement expert with experience of operating on a global scale, with a drive to deliver best-in-class purchasing methods
• Previous experience of working within or deep knowledge of professional services would be preferred
• Previous experience with people management is not essential, but would be highly advantageous
• Strong influencer who has the readiness to identify cost reduction opportunities, with the aim of achieving service targets with respect to quality, costs and time
• Fluent English and German required
