Commercial Controller

EMEA Recruitment is delighted to be working with our client, a logistics company, in search of a Commercial Controller based in the Amsterdam area.

The role would be to oversee all commercial investments and business performance analysis to be presented to clients, as well as stakeholders. This will be mainly to clarify the business position on profitability and budget forecasting.

Key responsibilities of the Commercial Controller:

• Working with sales management to prepare customer rate proposals
• Focusing on compliance of annual long-term client agreement, with periodic contract reviews
• Delivering a complete analysis on finalised commercial data to provide an insight on business performance
• Liaising with the Commercial team to assist with sales activities on tender preparations, sales guidelines and tracking
• Preparing and reviewing all investments and expenditure requisitions
• Supporting client negotiations
• Controlling expenditure vs. capital investment
• Reporting monthly business sector and segment P&L accounts and KPIs, as well as monthly forecasting updates and weekly flash result updates
• Preparation of monthly management reports
• Implementation, maintenance, operation and improvement of the company’s commercial reporting infrastructure, which consists of BI and Excel (automation)
• Driving planning and reporting processes within Benelux - this will include the production of the 3-year plan, annual budgeting, the periodic forecasting, monthly business performance reviews and weekly flash reporting
• Assisting the Finance department on several projects

Requirements:

• HBO qualified
• 1-2 years in a similar role
• 5+ years post-qualification
• Ability to provide accurate information to deadlines
• Excel and Power BI knowledge
• Fluent in Dutch and English
