Job Description

My client, a successful retailer based in Amsterdam, is looking for a Financial Controller. Due to growth of the team, they are looking for an outgoing and driven personality to join a current team of nine.

The role of Financial Controller will be able to signal opportunities and participate in process improvements and new process implementation projects.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

• The Financial Controller is accountable for the monthly reporting for both retail and wholesale
• Resolving tax compliance matters, annual statutory reporting, including assisting the external audit process, statistical reporting, etc.
• Coordinate with various departments - both Finance and non-Finance, across multiple countries
• Monthly capacity cost analysis and reporting for the market group
• Compliance around VAT, CIT and other taxes
• Preparation and finalisation of annual statutory reporting, including supporting the external audit process for the market group
• Participating and prepare for internal audits for the market group
• Statistical reporting for the market group

Skills and experience:

• Advanced Excel skills is a must
• Between 3-5 years of experience, either as a (Junior) Financial Controller or within a Big 4 audit firm
• Experience with SAP is a plus
• International exposure is advantageous, but not essential
• Proven experience and results in process optimisation
• Preparation of statutory financial statements
• Analysing
• Transferring expertise
• Customer orientation
• Showing reliability

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance or equivalent education.
