Senior Payroll Specialist - Nordics

Our client, a global consumer goods business, is working with us to appoint a Senior Payroll Specialist - Nordics, located in the Amsterdam area.

You will work for a business that appreciates ideas and gives you the freedom to optimize processes. It is looking to hire individuals capable of working in a fast-moving and cross-departmental position. 

The ideal candidate will have strong Payroll, Accounting and Excel skills, alongside a creative and driven personality. 

Senior Payroll Specialist – Nordics - Amsterdam, Noord Holland

The purpose of this position is to perform Payroll for multiple countries in EMEA, to provide and maintain the required expertise, and to assist with all Payroll programs in the Payroll environment, in accordance with companies’ policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Payroll Specialist:

• You will be given a specific set of countries to manage yourself
• Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders in order to manage the monthly Payroll closing across Europe and beyond
• General Ledger responsibilities
• Accountable for monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry and transactions into systems
• Assisting with an automation project and supporting continuous improvement projects within Payroll

Experience required:

• Fluency in English and Swedish/Norwegian/Danish
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in Payroll Accounting
• Experience in General Ledger Accounting and more broader Accounting responsibilities would be ideal
• Great communication skills and can-do approach
