EMEA Recruitment is delighted to share a newly created and exclusive Financial Controller position working for a multi-national communications and advertising company.

This is a senior role in the Finance team reporting to the Finance Director. This is a pivotal role within the structure part of the newly set up Shared Service to support operations in the Netherlands.

Financial Controller, Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands, Hybrid/Remote working (Monday & Wednesday in office)

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

• Your key objectives, with the Management Accountant, will be to create one aligned, efficient accounting and reporting function that provides the monthly reporting for the Operating Units
• To ensure accuracy and timely reporting of month-end P&Ls and balance sheets reporting, being part of the Shared Service function, using IFRS
• Accountability for reconciliation of the balance sheet and resolution of all reconciling items
• Manage and control the intercompany elements of the balance sheet
• Monthly review of the bank reconciliations and the currency revaluation as required
• Managing the Finance processes and Finance controls to ensure compliance with SOX
• Preparation of the statutory accounts
• Manage all major tax areas, such as VAT, corporate tax and wage tax
• Assist the Finance Director with the preparation and roll-out of the Finance Shared Service Center functions to the wider group
• Accuracy and timeliness of month-end reporting
• Accuracy and timeliness of cost input for forecast and budget process

Experience:

• Thorough understanding of IFRS and Dutch GAAP
• Previous Sox experience or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years of experience
• Ability to interpret and manipulate data
• Previous management experience of a team
• Leadership, ability to effect change and make decisions

Qualifications

Fully qualified Accountant or equivalent (e.g. RA, RC)

Languages:

Fluent in English
