Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is working with our global client in its search for a Business Controller to join the FP&A department.


You will play a crucial role within the Finance function, working with a global team on a number of FP&A initiatives.


The successful candidate will be the owner of group management reporting framework, have full oversight of the group-wide Business Analysis function, while assisting the CFO on management reporting and group financial analysis.


You will also be a key support for other Finance functions; Group Accounting, Treasury, Tax and Investor Relations.


Key responsibilities of the Business Controller:


  • Strategic financial planning and analysis
  • Develop models and coordinate discussion to support strategic operational analyses, including business viability evaluations, operational modifications and marketing evaluations
  • Maintenance and operation of group strategic financial models
  • Develop and interpret financial data/analysis in conjunction with operations management to make recommendations for business and cost improvement
  • Produce monthly/quarterly management reporting on operational and financial results, consolidated per site as required
  • Financial, operational analysis and interpretation of variances vs. plans on site results
  • Assist the Controlling function - provide active management, guidance and coaching of mine/smelter Site Business Analysts
  • Build analysis models
  • Coordinate the budget cycle




  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • 5-10+ years of experience in a financial/analytical role
  • Mining or metal smelting experience highly desirable
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
  • Numerically minded - Excel, cashflow modelling, ability to handle and treat a large amount of data, macros
  • Objectives focussed, ability to handle multiple objectives efficiently
