Financial Controller

Job Description

Our client, a global leader that covers the entire supply chain process from producer to end customer, is currently in search of a Financial Controller.

The role is to be based within its Rotterdam offices and offers you the opportunity to become an integrated support within the Accounting department, which will allow you to enhance and develop your skills and expertise.

Financial Controller - Rotterdam, Netherlands

The ideal candidate will be someone with the ability to think independently and be self-assured in communicating with the various organisation groups.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

You will be involved with the following tasks:

• Analysing and checking the monthly financials of the organisation and affiliated companies
• Writing financial statements for these companies based on Dutch GAAP
• Preparing internal and external reporting with financing, investment, logistics and insurance activities
• IFRS group reporting on a monthly basis
• Tax and VAT reporting
• Overhead reporting, including budget vs. actual analysis
• Intercompany reconciliations and intercompany funding
• Assisting with various ad-hoc activities

Experience required

• Master’s degree in Accounting or relevant area
• Previous experience in an audit firm or in a similar Financial Control position
• Accurate, good analytical skills
• Proactive person with a strong drive for continuous improvement
• Curiosity and willingness to learn the company’s business
• Accurate, team player, strong sense of responsibility
• IT literate in all MS Office programmes, preferably with knowledge of SAP
• Fluent in Dutch and English (both verbally and in writing)
