Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is pleased to work with our global manufacturing client in its search for a Head of Controlling, located in Rotterdam.

This site has an approximate revenue of €1 billion, with over 200 employees. The successful candidate will lead this site.

You will be reporting to the Finance Director for the Integrated Supply Chain and will manage a small team of Controllers.

You will be an important member of the Site Leadership team and manage the month-end close process.

 

Head of Controlling - Exclusive, Rotterdam, Netherlands

 

The company’s production process is energy intensive, so you should have affinity with the energy business and the energy transition. You answer ad-hoc questions and analyses requests from all stakeholders.

As a highly experienced Controller, you will lead the Financial Planning and Analysis activities at the site; monitor the expenses, review estimates and budgets and, where necessary, take action to improve the results. You proactively initiate and drive change and improvement initiatives, like dynamic reporting through Power BI.

Your main responsibilities as Head of Controlling include:

  • Contribute to the execution of the Rotterdam site strategy, which focusses on themes like variable cost reduction, capital efficiency, sustainability and growth
  • Efficiently and accurately execute the planning and control cycles in line with the organisation’s guidelines for the P&L, Capex and OWC, managing initiatives on site to improve the cost and capital base and OWC management, further deploying automatic reporting through Power BI
  • Proactively interpreting, compiling and distributing information using variance analysis
  • Governance, risk management, insurance management and internal control at the site
  • Acts as role model on the site, but also across the Integrated Supply Chain Finance community, will be in close contact with peer Site Finance Managers to identify and design standardization across the sites

Experience required:

  • At least 10 years’ professional experience, with site exposure
  • Bachelor’s degree qualified
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to ensure tasks are followed through to completion - in addition, you are able to plan workload and priorities ensuring deadlines are always met and work is in line with policies and procedures
  • Excellent team player and strong communication skills
  • Outstanding system skills, in particular SAP, SAP BW, MS Power BI, MS
  • Curiosity with a constant drive to explore and execute improvements in results and efficiency
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
