Job Description

I am delighted to share an opportunity for a German Speaking Payroll Specialist, working for a successful, international petrochemical company in Rotterdam.

Keep control of the accounts associated to payroll, and the attending of all SOX and internal controls.

 

German Speaking Payroll Specialist - Exclusive, Germany, Remote Working

 

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

 

  • Sole management of the payroll for employees in Europe (focus on Germany) and Asia
  • Assist Accounting department through the management of the accounts associated to payroll
  • Compliance with SOX and internal controls associated with payroll
  • Control of contracts with the payroll service providers (payroll system and advisers)
  • Close cooperation with the Accounting department in payroll accounting and annual financial statements for relevant year-end closing activities
  • Contact person for internal and external customers regarding questions related to payroll
  • Advice on all matters related to wage tax and social security law, and sole responsibility for carrying out wage tax and social security audits
  • Preparation and evaluation of data for pension assessors
  • Projects in the context of HR, payroll or Accounting area

 

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Economics or Law, with a focus on Human Resources
  • Finance/Accounting or any related field or education as Tax Clerk
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in the field of payroll (manufacturing industry with international environment)
  • Knowledge of company pension schemes and partial retirement
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll process and project management
  • In-depth knowledge of wage tax and social security law in Germany
  • Experience with payroll programs LOGA and SAP
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and service orientation
  • High level of confidentiality and sensitivity for interpersonal issues

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English and German
