Job Description

Join a global, fast-growing chemicals business in its global headquarters in Basel as a Country Accountant for the Swiss and Italian entities. 

 

As a highly motivated and proactive team member, you will play a crucial role leading all financial accounting processes for these entities to ensure compliance with relevant company policies and procedures, required accounting standards, statutory and fiscal requirements.

As a Country Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Directing and controlling financial accounting activities of the legal entities
  • Preparing the yearly statutory annual accounts
  • Maintaining external audit relationships
  • Assisting Tax with related corporate income tax calculations, coordinating VAT declarations and other indirect taxes
  • Ensuring adequate internal controls are implemented and maintained
  • Co-ordinating month-end closing, executing monthly reporting activities
  • Analysing and controlling GL accounts and cost centres
  • Making improvements and efficiencies of systems and procedures

 

Skills required:

 

  • Swiss CPA preferred, but not essential
  • At least 5 years of Accounting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must - German and/or Italian would be beneficial
  • Excellent analytical and Excel skills
  • A proactive attitude
