Interim Head of Accounting and Reporting

Job Description

We’re currently searching for an Interim Head of Accounting and Reporting on behalf of our client, a PE-backed company that is currently integrating a number of businesses in the chemical sector. 

It is urgently looking for an Interim Head of Accounting and Reporting, to start in early January, and assist the initial integration and consolidation of the separate business and the continued development of internal processes.

Interim Head of Accounting and Reporting, Basel, Switzerland

The role will be based in Basel, but they could consider someone home-based if you are willing to travel relatively regularly to Basel.

They currently have very little in place in terms of systems and tools, so this person would need to be very hands-on with a very strong working knowledge of Excel.

The role will include:

• Integrate separate companies to create one set of books with balance sheet, P&L and cashflow statements to be prepared consistently once a month
• Drive standardisation of Accounting policies and group Reporting
• Support the development and implementation of new Accounting and Consolidation tools
• Assist on ad hoc projects

Skills required:

• Very strong Excel skills, and an ability to work in an environment with limited tools and systems
• Good knowledge of IFRS - US GAAP knowledge would also be beneficial
• Attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
• Willingness to travel to additional sites in Europe
• Significant experience working in a similar role
