Job Description

Effective team management and collaboration are key to achieving strategic and financial goals for our multi-national manufacturing client.

 

They are seeking a results-driven and proactive individual to support the Head of Business Unit in steering the company towards its objectives.

 

The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate the monthly financial closing and reporting for the Business Unit and lead a matrix team locally and globally. With the right skillset and experience, the candidate can accelerate their development and make a significant impact on the company's success.

 

Responsibilities of the Head of BU Controlling:

 

  • Support the Head of the BU in achieving strategic and financial goals
  • Lead a team of two Controllers and functionally lead seven finance teams in different plants worldwide
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines, monitor internal control system and risk management process, and initiate corrective actions
  • Manage the annual budget process for the business unit
  • Drive initiatives and improvements in working capital management, review and assess financials of CAPEX and R&D projects
  • Ensure quality and performance of finance teams in local subsidiaries and be responsible for talent management
  • Coordinate implementation and review of adequate internal control systems
  • Coordinate internal audits and ensure necessary actions are implemented

Requirements:

 

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting; professional accounting or finance qualification desirable
  • 8+ years of experience in financial management and controlling functions for industrial corporations with worldwide exposure
  • An ability to travel between plants (mostly in CH, some in China/US)
  • Fluent English; additional language skills a plus
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of SAP and financial analysis and planning tools
  • Proactive self-starter with service-oriented attitude, good communication skills, and team-oriented mentality
  • Strong leadership skills, comfortable in a matrix environment, and able to drive change
