Lead Buyer

Job Description

Our client, a Swiss headquartered medical devices business based in Canton Solothurn, is currently seeking a Lead Buyer to join its expanding team for six months, with the possibility to become permanent.

This exciting role will hold responsibility for assisting the Strategic Procurement team and is available due to natural growth within the organisation. The Lead Buyer will be supporting projects within the MDD to MDR transition.

As Lead Buyer, you will assist the Procurement team by advising the business on preferred vendor selection. You will have a strong analytical understanding, with previous experience in either the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

We are looking for an immediately available, high calibre candidate who has previous experience as Lead Buyer, with the following skillset and previous achievements in:

• Educated to degree or equivalent level
• Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a Purchasing environment
• Strong communication and effective negotiation skills
• Experience managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Fluency in English and conversational-level German required
