Head of Accounting -Exclusive

EMEA Recruitment is currently working on an exclusive basis to hire a Head of Accounting for an innovative scale-up in Zug.

The Head of Accounting will report directly to the CFO. This role will be critical in enabling the Accounting team to scale and upgrade the Accounting infrastructure, processes and controls.

Head of Accounting responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation of company Accounting policies and processes
• Responsible for Accounting and Reporting according to IFRS and SWISS GAAP, lead Accounting to meet monthly/quarterly close deliverables and deadlines
• Manage the annual audit process, including external reporting and annual financial statements
• Own the treasury and cash management activities, including preparation and checking of payments, reconciliation of bank statements, monitoring of cash movements and liquidity
• Budget control and monthly statements
• Management of an Accountant once financial processes are established
• Be an active participant in automation and Finance improvement projects
• Preparation of corporate tax returns and VAT returns filings, provisions and returns

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant (preferably BSc in Finance and Accounting or professional qualification, such as CPA, ACA or ACCA), with a technical and detail-oriented mindset
• Complete understanding of IFRS and Swiss GAAP
• 7+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting
• Business fluent in English is a must - German is an advantage
