Job Description

We are currently looking to speak with an experienced Engineering Manager for an exclusive new role based close to Peterborough, UK.

 

This role will be instrumental in building up and establishing engineering and maintenance standards within a brand new plant within a high volume manufacturing environment.

As Engineering Manager, you will be devising the engineering & continuous improvement strategy for the site, to enable the delivery of operational and business objectives.

 

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensuring compliance of the factory planned maintenance systems for all production departments
  • Making sure safety of all electrical systems, services and buildings are in line with business requirements and compliant with electrical and mechanical regulations
  • Control the budgets for maintenance, service contracts, the upkeep of the factory and any overtime taken
  • Encouraging the use of 6 ‘S’ and Lean principles within the team
  • Guide, coach and develop the team and others you work with daily

 

Ideally having operated in a manufacturing environment, you will have prior experience of Engineering Management with a background in Engineering and be accustomed to operating in a high-volume production environment in a senior leadership capacity.

 

As Engineering Manager, additional requirements include:

 

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level, ideally in an Engineering discipline
  • Previous Manufacturing Management experience (preferred in Packaging and/or FMCG, Food & Beverages, or Automotive, 8+ years’ overall experience)
  • Strong user knowledge of policies and a proven track record of reaching objectives
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with diverse, international stakeholders
  • Fluent in English - any other language would be an advantage
