Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is working with a world-renowned, international retail company looking to add an  Accountant to its Accounting team in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Month-End and Year-End Closing:

  • Manage bookkeeping, financial reviews, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of closing activities, adhering to local and US GAAP standards

• Audit and Compliance:

  • Support internal and external audits, including tax audits, ensuring compliance with key controls, policies and procedures
  • Update and document processes involved in implementing system improvements and controls

• Collaboration and Support:

  • Collaborate with FP&A and other stakeholders, and support corporate initiatives

The Ideal Candidate:

• Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical Accounting skills, and knowledge of US GAAP is advantageous 
  • Advanced Excel skills, data analytics, and SAP experience are preferred
  • Fluency in English 

• Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics or Accounting (or equivalent) 
  • 3-5 years of career experience
