EMEA Recruitment is excited to partner with an innovative international technology company in the search for a Head of Global Accounting to join its finance team in Amsterdam.

The Head of Global Accounting will play a crucial role in managing the organization’s financial framework, ensuring that financial processes are both efficient and fully compliant with international and US accounting standards.

This leadership position requires a professional with deep expertise in technical and operational accounting, strategic vision, and hands-on leadership experience, with a proven track record of enhancing financial operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Global Accounting:

  • Lead and manage the accounting and financial controlling team
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting, payroll, and tax reporting activities related to the company’s core operations
  • Supervise the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring the timely processing of invoices and payments
  • Develop and scale financial processes and systems to meet the evolving needs of the business
  • Lead and manage the operational accounting team, including recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Provide continuous training and professional development for the accounting team, ensuring they stay current with industry best practices and standards.
  • Support ad-hoc activities and projects within the Finance function

Ideal profile:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance and a recognized professional qualification - RA, CA, ACCA, CPA (or equivalent)
  • An audit background in the Big 4 would be preferred
  • 12+ years’ relevant experience
  • US GAAP and IFRS knowledge and strong SOX experience
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
  • A person who takes ownership and strives for continuous improvement
  • Hands-on approach to your work and leads by example
  • High level of honesty, integrity, commitment and responsibility
