We are currently looking to speak with an experienced Head of Engineering for our life sciences client based close to Bremen, Germany.
This role will be instrumental in building up, establishing and optimising Engineering and Maintenance standards within aplant environment, while being a key site leadership role. Key responsibilities of the Head of Engineering include:
Managing the Engineering team and providing strong leadership in both 1-2-1 and group basis - acting as a coach, you will ensure team development to deliver on Engineering site requirements
Devising the Engineering and Continuous Improvement strategy for the site, to enable the delivery of operational and business objectives
Ensuring compliance of the factory planned maintenance systems for all Production departments
Ensuring safety of all electrical systems, services and buildings are in line with business requirements
Control the budgets for maintenance, service contracts and the upkeep of the factory
Encouraging the use of 6 ‘S’ and Lean principles within the team and work closely with the Head of Operational Excellence
Ideally having operated in a Manufacturing environment, you will have prior experience of Engineering Management with a background in Engineering and be accustomed to operating in a high-volume Production environment in a senior leadership capacity.
As Head of Engineering, additional requirements include:
Educated to degree or equivalent level, ideally in an Engineering discipline
Previous Manufacturing management experience (preferred in biotech or life sciences, 10+ years’ overall experience)
Strong communication skills when dealing with diverse, international stakeholders
Fluent in English and German - any other language would be an advantage

Champion safety leadership and culture among managers and employees
