Financial Controller

Job Description

Work for a global hospitality leader as a Financial Controller in the Accounting department, supporting a quality service to the stakeholders.

This role offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself within the Accounting department, servicing multiple stakeholders across this well-respected international business.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and enter monthly journals in Accounting system
  • Analyze Accounting entries/records to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting, procedural standards and Accounting principle
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist manager on group tax matters
  • Prepare payments in banking system, budget and forecasting (including cashflow forecasts), and internal financial reports  
  • Assist with the preparation of local financial statements for the managed entities
  • Prepare/update IFRS reporting packages
  • Manage periodic reconciliation of intercompany balance
  • Prepare and participate in month-end and year-end close process
  • Support in external audit activities

Experience required

  • Master’s degree in Accountancy/Finance or relevant area
  • 4-5 years’ relevant work experience in a holding, financing company or audit firm within a multi-company organization – experience with finance holding companies or financing entities is an advance
  • Knowledge with reporting in IFRS and local GAAP standards
  • Proactive person with a strong drive for continuous improvement and practical attitude
  • Accurate, with good analytical skills
  • IT literate in all MS Office programmes with fluency in Excel
  • Fluent in English (both verbally and in writing) with a good understanding of Dutch
