Global Category Manager Indirect

Job Description

My client, in the manufacturing sector, is looking for a German speaking Global Category Manager Indirect to oversee their indirect procurement categories globally in their office near St. Gallen.

You will manage strategic procurement globally within Indirect, with a focus on IT and MRO categories.

We are looking for candidates with a good foundation in global strategic procurement of indirect categories in particular understanding of IT services and MRO in an industrial manufacturing environment.

As Global Category Manager Indirect you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Indirect Procurement on delivering cost reduction and value chain improvement programs across a wide region, through the implementation of best practice and management of Procurement activities for all indirect services categories globally.

We are looking for high calibre candidates with the following skillset:

• Ideally 5+ years’ experience in Procurement in a similar position covering category management responsibilities
• Procurement expert with experience of operating on a global scale, with a drive to deliver best-in-class purchasing methods
• Previous experience with people management is not essential, but would be highly advantageous
• Fluent English and German is essential
