Are you an experienced Senior Commodity Market Analyst? We are recruiting for an exciting role in Amsterdam, where you will lead the market intelligence efforts and support hedging recommendations for key commodity sectors, including sugar, corn, grains, vegetable oils, and energy (gas/electricity).
Our client is a global leader in the FMCG industry, known for its expansive portfolio of well-loved brands and a robust financial turnover of around $20bn.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Commodity Analyst:
Commodity Market Analysis: Lead analysis for key agro-commodities and energy sectors
Forecasting & Reporting: Provide actionable price forecasts and contribute to the Monthly Rolling Forecast
Strategic Reporting: Deliver commodity market insights to Finance & Procurement teams
Risk Management Support: Assist in developing risk management strategies
Hedging & Coverage Recommendations: Develop hedging strategies and recommend adjustments to supplier contracts
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with external consultants and build relationships with industry experts
Ideal Profile:
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Business, or Engineering)
Experience in global commodity market analysis/forecasting
Understanding of commodity risk management practices and financial forecasting
Familiarity with commodity trading and analysis
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; familiarity with market analysis tools and financial modelling software
Experience working in global or cross-functional teams in a multinational environment
Knowledge of sustainability trends in commodity markets is an advantage
