Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is working with our international client in its search for an Audit Manager - Banking to join their offices in the Amsterdam area.

In this role, you are responsible for the execution of risk-based audit plans, assure the effectiveness of the internal control/risk management systems, and advise senior management.

The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders, maintain strong relationships with business partners, contribute to a sound control environment, and deliver on the audit plan according to the agreed timelines.

The Audit Manager will become part of an international team, motivate and supervise junior team members, and take the lead on several audit engagements.

Your responsibilities as the Audit Manager:

  • Contribute to the Internal Audit risk assessment, annual audit plan and execution of risk-based audit coverage
  • Ensure that the quality of the audit report and documentation meet quality assurance criteria, and all audits are executed and reported to Management within the agreed timelines
  • Ensure that issues and enquiries raised by regulatory authorities are responded to in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure that all audit work meets the standards set by IIA and internally by local and group-wide requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank’s rules, policies, procedures and guidelines as well as with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements

Experience required:

  • 7+ years working in financial audit and/or investigations
  • Practical experience across financial services disciplines
  • Preferred qualifications – Certified Auditor with professional qualifications (RO, CIA, RA, CFA, RE, CISA)
  • Knowledge of key relevant legal, regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Effective communication and social skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English
