Job Description

I am working with an exciting global commodity business with a wide range of industrial products within its portfolio across several different teams.

As the Logistics Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment, develop your skills, and grow within a large global commodity organisation striving to be the best in the industry! 


You will oversee the logistics and smooth coordination of operations within the team and external parties involved within your specific commodity.

The role is located in Zug and fully based onsite five days a week.

The role:

As part of the commodity team, you will work within an extremely fast-paced environment while ensuring the appropriate logistics of the bulk commodities by all modes of transport, contract negotiations, handling credit/invoice queries and collaborating with traders and the wider team.

Your responsibilities as the Logistics Specialist:
  • Managing the transport of specific teams' commodities globally including working with service providers along the entire logistics chain including ports, sea freight, rail freight, warehouses, road and air freight
  • Proactively managing logistics and customer services alongside overseeing payments and letters of credit
  • Responsible for transport/handling of bulk commodities such as Iron Ore, Coal, Zinc and Aluminium
  • Completing contract negotiations while working closely with the legal team across the end-to-end process
  • Daily contact with global customers to ensure the execution of purchase and sale contracts
  • Owning a commodity division operations by overseeing the entire logistics & transport process across all modes of transport

Personal Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years in previous Logistics, Export, or Bulk Operations/Coordination ideally within the mining, bulk operations and commodity industries
  • Contract negotiation and experience working closely with trading teams within a business
  • Candidate who can problem solve and work within a fast-paced logistics/operations environment
  • Commodity materials & Bulk product is highly desired
  • Educational background, ideally commercial apprenticeship or bachelor’s degree
