Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is working exclusively with our global client, in the oil and gas industry, in their search for a Buyer.

The Buyer will ensure timely, cost-efficient and quality sourcing of all goods and services for the operations of the company branch.

The successful candidate will liaise with offshore rigs and project managers, process/understand the needs of internal clients, prepare RFQs, analyze and help select suppliers, negotiate and prepare PO’s, and follow up on procurement until delivery takes place.

Responsibilities of the Buyer:
  • Liaise with MATCO’s, discipline engineers, and project management, on all related procurement topics
  • Prepare requests for quotation documents in accordance with the relevant specifications, including all technical, commercial, and quality requirements
  • Creation of Contracts and Purchase Orders in the ERP system
  • Negotiation of Terms and Conditions with suppliers
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal customers
  • Communicating and presenting information to management regarding procurement and contracts
  • Provide Suppliers feedback and help Vendor Management process Suppliers evaluation and follow-up
  • Monitor the PO/Contract after-delivery process in order to grant on time Suppliers payments
Experience required:
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in the procurement and contracts area of the oil and gas industry/offshore/marine with a taste for technical subjects
  • Bachelor in Business Administration and/or B.Sc. degree in a technical field, or equivalent in work experience
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Understanding of contracts, contract governance, contractual language and the contract lifecycle
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and standard working software, SAP-MM & McMain is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Fluent English, French and/or Dutch is a plus

    Your profile:
    • 5-10 years experience in a similar role
    • Experience in managing a diverse portfolio of spend categories
    • Business acumen and seasoned buying skills
    • Proven negotiation skills and influencing skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong professional networks, including external markets and internal teams
    • Highly service-oriented team player with strong organizational skills, who supports demanding clients in a professional manner
    • Open-minded, flexible, proactive, independent, being able to multi-task
    • Trustworthy, discrete, and respectful with cultural awareness, etiquette and diplomacy as shown by experience handling discrete matters and figures
    • Excellent MS Office (O365) user; knowledge of MS Dynamics and PowerBI is a plus
