EMEA Payroll Supervisor

EMEA Recruitment is supporting a global life sciences organization in the recruitment of an experienced EMEA Payroll Supervisor to join its Payroll Finance Shared Services team based in Watford, UK.

This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant Payroll processing across 37 countries for over 8,000 employees, while also contributing to system implementations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities of the EMEA Payroll Supervisor:

  • Supervise and support daily Payroll operations in partnership with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance and accurate Payroll execution across multiple EMEA countries

  • Review and validate Payroll data, manage off-cycle payments, and resolve discrepancies with a focus on employee experience

  • Perform and oversee Payroll audits, year-end tax reporting, and ensure control documentation is maintained

  • Lead or support vendor implementation projects, driving operational improvements, automation, and standardization

  • Collaborate with HR Shared Services and other stakeholders to address escalated Payroll issues and ensure alignment with regulatory and internal requirements

Candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a relevant Payroll qualification or accreditation

  • 4–5 years’ Payroll experience in a shared services or multinational environment, with supervisory or lead-level responsibilities

  • Proficiency with Payroll systems such as SAP, ADP GlobalView, SuccessFactors, ADP Celergo, and strong Excel skills

  • Fluent in English; fluency in another major European language (e.g. French, German, Spanish, Italian) is a plus

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proactive, detail-focused, and employee-centric approach
