She specialises in sourcing top talent across our specialist disciplines for our international clients to place in finance jobs in Sweden and other Nordic countries. She joined EMEA Recruitment in August 2023.

With previous recruitment experience and a degree in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, as well as a master’s in Management & Business Analytics, Hanna has a good understanding of multiple industries, growth strategies and business operations.

In this role, you will be a part of a journey of building a new global finance organization.

The VAT Accountant will be a part of the Record to Report team, which includes Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, and Financial Controlling.


Responsibilities of the VAT Accountant:

  • Oversee and implement Accounting functions
  • Manage VAT, Intrastat, and transfer pricing reporting across various company entities and jurisdictions where applicable
  • Ensure accurate VAT returns, duty rates, and assist with VAT inquiries
  • Facilitate timely and accurate tax payments and maintain meticulous tax accounting records
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and external partners
  • Spearhead efforts to enhance reporting processes, utilizing strategic tools for continuous improvement
  • Uphold legal and corporate governance compliance standards
  • Supervise and perform reconciliations for the general ledger account reconciliations
Experience required:
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large shared service center environment
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting or similar
  • Experience working as a VAT Accountant
  • Skilled in SAP or other ERP systems, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and other financial tools
  • Effective communication and social skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English
