Our client, a global and international Accounting business based in Amsterdam, is seeking a Financial Assistant to support the Head of Finance on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Services. 

Working in a dynamic and rapidly expanding business, this is a unique opportunity for a Financial Assistant to take on more responsibility and gain recognition in a company. 

This position will suit someone who is proactive and self-driven, with good social skills and a strong technical mindset.

Hybrid working (three days in the office and two days from home) is available for this position.

The main duties of the Financial Assistant are:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements
  • Process invoices, expense claims and payments accurately and timely
  • Monitor and reconcile bank statements
  • Assist with external audits
  • Provide strong internal and external stakeholder management

The skills required for the Financial Assistant:

  • Fluent English and based in Amsterdam
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a financial administrator/accounts payable/accounts receivable role (or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal ability
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
  • Dutch speaking, highly desirable
  • Sage 200 or NetSuite experience is highly desirable

The skills required for the Accountant:

  • To be based in the Netherlands
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Finance
  • Dutch GAAP and IFRS proficient

  • Dutch tax knowledge
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • SAP knowledge (preferable)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Controls, Finance, or Business
  • 1 year’s experience in a Junior Accounting/Finance position, such as Associate/Junior Associate at the Big 4 or banking sector
  • Hold a basic understanding of investment banking
  • Fluent English – basic Dutch is an advantage
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
